Hormone disrupting substances in cosmetics

In TROS Radar on Tuesday evening 9 November 2020 there was an extensive item on the use of endocrine disrupting substances in cosmetics, such as parabens. We, as a natural brand, are very happy with this, because these kinds of programs make you as a consumer more aware of what…

NO to microplastics

Have you recently seen the tv-show ‘Keuringsdienst van Waarde’ about microplastics? Unfortunately, in the cosmetics world more value is still attached to spreadability than to how good a product really is for you… and for the environment.

Microplastics and nanomaterials do not belong in cosmetics, we think! These are substances that are far from natural, that are not good for your body and certainly not for the environment. Plastic, do you see it in front of you? No matter how small…

We say NO to microplastics

Microplastics damage organisms in the ocean and who knows what it does to our bodies. Nanomaterials damage the corals, which are important for the marine ecosystem and are easily damaged anyway.

And that while nature offers us so much beauty to take care of ourselves. So many beautiful oils and herbs that work right in front of you. That is what we like to use: the power of nature. We only use natural ingredients that work for your skin, instead of substances that (temporarily) fill wrinkles. Your skin can regulate itself, as long as you appeal to this power. And that means: don’t clog up!

Our trademark NCS stands squarely behind our vision on pure natural cosmetics. Recently they have tightened the restrictions. In this way, the standards of the NCS hallmark are a nice way to distinguish environmentally friendly, ecological products from conventional ones. Because you need an app (from Plastic Soup) to make sense of the list of ingredients in Latin. No one recognizes microplastics in it.

With this decision, the NSC quality mark supports products, such as Miracles by Stella, which are environmentally friendly! In this way you as a consumer become wiser and wiser in cosmetics, which enables you to make more conscious choices. We are happy to help you with that! Take care of yourself and nature with love!

What do fragrances do to your mood?

What do fragrances do to your mood?

Fragrances and emotions are strongly connected with each other. The smell is one of our strongest senses. So it’s not surprising that different smells each have a different effect on your mood. A lot of fragrances are therefore also anti-depressive, because they are often made of summer flowers, which gives you memories of the fine summer days!

Fragrances work differently than images and sounds. It is not pre-processed and filtered, that’s why scent causes emotions immediately. A scent can make you feel more confident, make you feel happier or make you feel safe and secure. For example: the smell of freshly baked apple pie can make you feel safe, without you having consciously thought about it.

A smell first evokes an emotional reaction. Only then does the intellectual recognition follow. Lavender scent is a good example: you first feel the relaxation, only then do you recognize the specific aroma.

We have listed a number of fragrances and their effects for you, which are incorporated in our Miracles. Of course we only use essential oils and rose water from the Damascus Rose.

❤️  Lavender cheers up melancholy people and has a very relaxing effect!

❤️  Geranium has a calming effect, is recommended in case of emotional tension!

❤️  Rose has a relaxing and anti-depressive effect and therefore has a positive effect on your mood!

❤️  Peppermint has a cooling and refreshing effect! That’s why this fragrance is used in our Fresh Day Deodorant.

Let our fragrances work for you, discover what they do for you ❤️

Cruelty free

Totally vegan ánd free of animal testing

Did you know that if our products are 100% vegan and therefore free of animal testing at Miracles by Stella? But what is vegan cosmetics anyway? Vegan cosmetics is completely free of animal testing and free of ingredients derived from animals. You can think of gelatine or beeswax for example. These are ingredients that are often used in cosmetics. But beware: vegan products are free of animal testing, but animal testing products are certainly not always vegan. These concepts are sometimes confused. Non-animal testing cosmetics can contain animal ingredients and is therefore not necessarily vegan.

In addition, the term vegan does not mean anything about the product being good for you and your skin. There are plenty of ingredients in cosmetics that are vegan, but they are highly synthetic and do not take care of your skin. The term ‘vegan’ alone says nothing about the quality of the product.

At a glance:

  1. Cosmetics free of animal testing
  2. Vegetarian cosmetics don’t contain ingredients from dead animals (just the idea…).
  3. Vegan cosmetics are free from animal testing and contains no ingredients from dead or living animals or animal by-products (such as beeswax).
  4. Vegan ingredients in cosmetics are not necessarily good for your skin.

Our quality mark and the animal testing free logo on the back of our packaging at least give you the guarantee that you are really buying a vegan and animal testing free product! This way you can be sure that there was no animal suffering during the development of care products!

That label is good to look out for when you want to buy vegan cosmetics, which says that the product went through a strict inspection. While many other claims can be made just like that, such as ‘of course’.

In a next blog more about the terms vegan and natural. Because that’s not the same either…
